Nelson News and Exhibitions 2011

The more I learn of Nelson's work, the more I come to admire his versatility and the poetic intensity of his vision. His approach is eclectic and unpredictable – realist, surrealist, symbolist, even abstract at times, but always beautiful . . ."

JANUARY

Kim Nelson Fine Art & Editions

Kim Nelson’s new venture is up and running and the artist completed his first commissioned work there in January. “ It’s great to be able to work in a place with so much space, but also a little odd” says the artist referring no doubt to the buildings history. It was an ‘Oddfellows’ Associaton” built in the mid 1880’s and is a significant part of the Yass Valley’s history. For more info see the Kim Nelson Fine Art & Editions page.

Chief Justice unveiling

We reported in December 2010 that Kim Nelson had been commissioned to paint the official portrait of the chief Justice of the ACT Supreme Court. The painting was unveiled on 31st January to acclaim and was reported in the press and on television.
